Goal reflection:
My goal for respect was to complete my work on time. I was doing pretty well with completing this goal because I would work really hard on the things we had to do in class and I would also finish them at home but 2 weeks ago I wasn’t able to use my computer so I fell a little bit behind on some of the class work that we were doing in class. I am still working on this goal but I am a lot closer to accomplishing this goal that I was last year.
My definition of respect is the ability to recognize and appreciate others beliefs, religion, and their belongings.
My goal for respect is to complete work on time.
I will complete my goal by being on task in class and to work on important things in class when it's an appropriate time. I will also stay focused in class and use my time wisely.
Others will know that I'm completing my goal because I will have no missing assignment and I won't be stressed in class because I will have my work done.
The difference this will make is that I won't be behind in my classes and I will have more time at home to do things that I actually want to do instead of being at my house doing my homework.
Goal reflection:
My goal for Integrity was to be a role model for others. I am still working on this one because I still can get off tasks sometimes and talk with my friend when I’m supposed to be doing something else. I am doing better than I was at the beginning of the year but I still have a lot to go before I can say that I have accomplished my goal.
My definition of integrity is to do the right thing even if someone is or isn't watching.
My goal for integrity is to be a role model for others.
I will complete my goal by listening in class and reminding people to stay on task in class. I will be a role model and people will be able to count on me if they need help.
Others will know that I'm actually doing this because they will see me paying attention in class and reminding people to stay focused and to listen to the teachers talking.
The difference this will make is that there will be less people needing help because they will be paying attention in class and less people will be goofing off.
I will use this in class when we need to listen to the teachers when they're saying something important.
Goal reflection:
My goal for Effort was to try more in the things we did in class and to make it the best that I could. I am very happy with how I have grown. Some work that shows how much I have grown is my annotations from “Puro Amor” . In these annotations I got an approaching because I didn’t explain the things that I wrote down and didn’t really try on it. A little bit later we had to annotate “The Mask of the Red Death” and I got an Exceeds on it because I tried harder on it and pushed myself to reread the text again and again to try and find more things that I could highlight.
My definition of effort is to do you best on something even if its hard.
My goal for effort is to try harder in the work I do instead of just making it then being done, but to push myself to go farther and make it the best I can.
I will complete my goal by working even if the project I'm working on is hard and trying different strategies before I ask a teacher.
Others will know that I'm actually accomplishing my goal because the teacher won't be coming over to me as much and I will be working harder on problems.
The difference this will make is that the teacher will have time for other people who actually need their help and they won't need to be rushing.
I can use this in the class when I need to work on a project that needs to get done.
Goal reflection:
My goal for refinement was to go back through my work and make sure that it was correct. I did very well with my goal because lately in class we have been having geography quizzes and I have been getting good grades in these. With the quiz once I’m done I will go back through my work and double check each question and make sure that they are my final answer. Also on the geography quiz we need to take home a study guide that we fill in and memorize. I have been using refinement when I fill these in because I am making it organized and double checking where I labeled each place and make sure I didn’t make a mistake.
My definition of refinement is to go back through your work once you are done with it and correct your answers and make it better.
My goal for refinement is to go back through my work after I have finished and make sure everything is correct.
Something I commit to doing for my goal is to talk more in our fish bowl discussions and talk not only when someone asks me a question but to also talk when I have something to say about the topic.
Others will know that I'm actually doing this because they will see me participating in our class discussions.
The difference this will make is that I will have better grades in participation in the class discussions and I will have more information about the topic we're talking about.
I can use this in the class because we do fish bowls in class quite a bit and I will be able to participate more.
My inspiring adult is my soccer coach, Coach Thierry. Over the 3 seasons I have been on his team, I have learned so much. He has really taught me to grow in soccer, like how to take time when I have the ball or how to shoot the ball better. Throughout the time I have been on his team my skill in soccer has gotten way better thanks to him. When he coaches he shows all the habits of hearts and mind, but especially respect. He shows it by respecting the other teams, and refs, like if a ref makes an unfair calls he will just say that the ref is doing their best and we shouldn't get mad or upset. I really look up to Thierry in every thing that he does. So if I were ever gonna be a soccer coach I would want to be just like him.
