At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated ownership because I was prepared for things that were happening in school.
I understood ownership to mean that you would take responsibility and people could count on you if they needed help.
By the end of this year, I have grown a lot with my ownership. At the beginning of the year my goal for ownership was to do my homework before I hung out with my friends and I would also keep track of what homework needed to be done. I think I did really well with my goals because I am now doing my homework the first day it gets assigned and I am also knowing which piece of homework needs to get done. I have no missing assignments and haven’t since I set my goal. I am getting more responsible too because I don’t need a reminder to do my homework.
At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated helpfulness by helping my team if we weren’t in agreement. I would help combine ideas to make one so that we could make something that everyone wanted to do.
I understood helpfulness to mean that you are being useful in your ideas and actions. In the beginning of the year I didn’t really give any ideas to my group and I let them decide everything even if I didn’t want to do it. Like on our first exhibition, I would help make things that my partners decided to make but I wouldn’t give any idea into it.
By the end of this year, I think I have done a good job in helpfulness. My goal for helpfulness was that I would give useful ideas to my team and also listen to their ideas too. I did this in my science exhibition because me and my partners had to decide if we wanted to make a game or a model. We decided to do both so that our presentation would be more interactive and also that we could all do something we wanted to do.
At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated respect by not talking when someone was talking to us. I understood respect to mean that you would be quiet when someone was talking to you.
By the end of this year, I grew a lot in respect because I am now bringing more energy to my team when we work and also being more supportive. I showed this in our Aztec and Inca exhibition because me and my partners had to make clay sculptures and we would all support each other by telling them their pieces looked really good and also that helping each other practicing without cutting them off. Another thing we did was we helped each other with their projects if they needed help with something. Though I am still slightly working on respect because sometimes I will talk with my friends while the teacher is talking but I have mostly stopped doing that and I am almost there because that hasn’t happened in a while.
