Weekly Update 4/24/26


As the warm spring weather approaches, please be sure that students are meeting our dress code.   We want to ensure that students are safe and readyd to learn, while also preparing them for college and careers.  Appropriate attire, including footwear, is a important aspect of this journey.


MS Book Fair

The middle school BOGO Scholastic Book Fair will run from Monday, April 27th, to Friday, May 1st. This fair is Buy One Get One Free for everything in the fair. Here are a few notes to keep in mind/


7th Grade Field Trip

Below is the link for the 7th grade field trip information and permission slip.  Paper waivers were handed out during lunch.  Completed waivers and the $15 for the trip will be collected starting Monday, March 30th.

NYS Assessments

We will begin the administration of the NYS 3-8 assessments this week.  The assessments are taken on students' chromebooks.  Please help ensure that your child's Chromebook is fully charged the night prior to each assessment.


8th grade science assessment is May 5th.


Math assessments will take place on May 11th and 12th.


Safety Drills

We still have one lockdown drill and two fire drill to complete.  Weather permitting, we will attempt to conduct the fire drills this week.  A message will go out via Parent Square regarding more specific information for our lockdown drill in the coming weeks.

21st Century Program/YWCA


We are pleased to announce Maryvale Intermediate and Middle Schools are partnering with YWCA Western New York to provide an extended learning program through the US Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant.


The program is provided free of charge to all families. The program will operate Monday through Thursday, from 2:15pm to 5:45pm for Middle School students.  More information and the registration link can be found below or by clicking here.
