Weekly Update 12/5/26
We will be conducting a lockdown drill on the morning of Tuesday, December 9th.
Parent conferences will be held on Friday, December 12th. This will be a half day for students, with conferences in the afternoon. We are setting up team meetings with parents/guardians of tier III, at-risk students. Our counselors and administrators are setting up parent/student led conferences for our tier II students.
Teachers will be sending out their schedules for any parents who want to meet with a specific teacher(s) on December 12th. We will be doing this through Parent Square. If you have not signed up on Parent Square yet, I encourage you to do so using the QR code below or by clicking here. Please note that this is our first time using Parent Square to set up conferences. With this being a new experience for both parents/guardians and teachers, we expect that we may have some hiccups in getting conferences scheduled. If you want a conference with a teacher(s) and are having trouble scheduling it, please contact the teacher or your student's counselor directly.

Family Engagement Night - Parent Survey
Our family engagement night (aka SPIN) will take place on February 25th, 2026. We are looking to get information from parents and guardians regarding the type of information and/or presenters that you would like to see. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. The survey will be open through January 4th.
We are working on having Gordan Korman present to parents and have a book signing at this event as well. As we get feedback from students, parents and from Mr. Korman, we will share the agenda for the event.
Yearbook
Attention 8th grade parents. We are looking for your child's baby picture for this year's yearbook. Please email your child's picture with their name to msyearbook@maryvaleufsd.org.
For all grade levels, if you took any pictures at a school sponsored event and you would like to share the picture with the yearbook you can email us at msyearbook@maryvaleufsd.org.

MS Spotlight
The Middle School winter concert will be Tuesday, December 16th. Our 6th grade ensembles will begin at 6:00 pm and our 7/8 ensembles will be at 7:15. (Note that there was a misprint in the District Calendar for the 6th grade start time.)
We are finalizing an agreement to have an author visit for the Intermediate and Middle School in February. Stay tuned for more information.
We have many clubs and intramurals starting to meet already. Please see the list of the clubs, meeting times and locations below.
21st Century Program/YWCA
We are pleased to announce Maryvale Intermediate and Middle Schools are partnering with YWCA Western New York to provide an extended learning program through the US Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant.
The program is provided free of charge to all families. The program will operate Monday through Thursday, from 2:15pm to 5:45pm for Middle School students. More information and the registration link can be found below or by clicking here.
