Weekly Update 10/9/26
A sincere thank you to all the families who have been following our morning drop-off procedures. We have noticed a significant improvement in traffic flow around our bus loop, which directly enhances safety for all of our students.
We know that waiting in line during drop-off can test anyone's patience, especially during busy mornings. Please know we are actively working with the Department of Transportation and local officials to extend the green light timing on Union Road during peak arrival and dismissal hours to help ease the bottleneck.
If your child is eligible for district busing, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of it. While driving your child offers nice quality time together, fewer cars on campus directly reduces congestion, saves money and time, and improves safety for walking students.
Additionally, taking the bus comes with a great peace-of-mind guarantee: if a district bus is ever delayed due to weather or traffic, your child's late arrival is automatically excused and will never count against their attendance record.

Spotlight
Big congratulations to our students who have officially graduated from our English as a New Language (ENL) program!
Reaching English proficiency on the New York State NYSESLAT exam requires incredible dedication. These students have worked tirelessly to master reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English, all while learning new academic subjects, navigating middle school, and adjusting to new cultural norms. Becoming bilingual or multilingual is a superpower, and we could not be prouder of their grit and achievement.
A special thank you to our outstanding ENL team and classroom teachers. Their collaborative effort to differentiate instruction ensures that every student in our building feels welcomed, supported, and challenged every day.

Five week grades will close Friday, October 9th. Progress reports will available by Thursday, October 15th.
There is no school on Monday, October 12th in observation of Indigenous Peoples'/Columbus Day.
The PTO meeting has been moved to Wednesday, October 21st at 6:00 pm in the library.

21st Century Program/YWCA
Our fall programming is currently on hold as the YWCA is awaiting their Grant Award Notice from the NYS Education Department. We will update students and their families about upcoming programming as soon as possible.
We recognize that this news may be disappointing for both the schools and families, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. Our priority is to balance our commitment to serving students and families with our responsibility to ensure the long-term sustainability and compliance of the program.
