Weekly Update 5/8/26

Teacher Appreciation

We just wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week.  Our fantastic PTO provided snacks, treats and prizes throughout the week to show their appreciation.  If you want to show your appreciation, sending a simple message to your child's teacher can go a long way.

I also want to thank you, our parents, for being a partner in our students' education.  We need to continue to work together to ensure our students are safe, feel welcome at school and in the community, and are prepared for whatever adventure lies ahead.

Transportation and Vehicle Safety

When driving on campus, please adhere to traffic control devices (stop signs, speed limits, one-way drives, etc.).  We have had numerous closes calls and we again, want to make sure our students are safe.  Additionally, be sure to stop when the red lights on buses are flashing and do not attempt to board a bus, or other district transportation without the explicit permission of the bus driver or school official.

End of Year Announcements

We are in the last push of the year.  Teachers are beginning to review for exams, as they also teach new knowledge and skills.  While this time of year can build anxiety in both students and educators, we also have many fun events planned for the end of the year.  Below is a list of some of the important field trips and events.

We want to ensure that students are able to participate in our field trips and other events in a safe manner.   Many of these events are also seen as a reward for their progress this past year.  As such, participation in such events could be jeopardized by behavior, attendance and academics.

Final Exams

The final exam schedule and bus shuttle schedule will be sent home in the coming weeks.  Final exams will only be administered at the scheduled day and time.  Final exams cannot be made-up and failure to show up for a final exam will result in a grade of a "zero".

Many students will find that they are exempt from certain exams.  The Exam Exemption Parameters are below and we will notify each student of which exam that they need to take in early June.
