Weekly Update - 3/15/24

Many of our students have entered a time of fasting and prayer as we begin Ramadan.  Ramadan starts 10 to 12 days earlier each year, as it is based on the lunar calendar.   This year, Ramadan started on March 11th and is expected to continue until April 9th.  During Ramadan, many of our Muslim students will fast from sunup to sundown.  We have provided alternative spaces for students observing Ramadan during their lunches to reflect and pray.

As mentioned a few weeks ago, we are sending information home to parents about course selections for next year.  All middle school students can join either or both an instrumental ensemble and/or a vocal ensemble.  Sixth graders have the option to take STEM and we also offer advanced math in grades 6 & 7, as well as advanced classes in math, ELA, social studies and science in 8th grade.   More information and links to the forms have been emailed to parents.  They are also posted below and on your child's grade level Google Classroom.  

Please complete the grade appropriate form by March 29, 2024.

As spring comes upon us, I want to remind students and parents to review the dress code.  It can be found on page 12 of our Code of Conduct.  Additionally, get outside and enjoy some sun and fun.  Increasing activity outside will help promote physical and mental health.

Yearbook 

8th graders are being asked to submit baby pictures for the yearbook.   You can also order your yearbook today!  See the flyers below for more information.

PTO 30 Days of Prizes!

All Maryvale Schools are joining together to raffle off 30 days of prizes!   There is no limit on how many calendars you can purchase or sell!  Please fill out the attached Google Form or Enter to Win slips for every Chance that you would like to purchase (please add your email to the slip).

The PTO will be selling the Chances to Win from Friday, March 1st until Monday, March 25th.

WINNERS WILL BE RANDOMLY PICKED DAILY AND EMAILED THAT DAY by 8 pm.
