Weekly Update 4/12/26

We are entering the last week of the 3rd quarter.  Please take some time to sign on to the Student or Parent Portal with you child to review their current grades.  All past due work needs to be in by Friday, April 17th.  While in the portal, check your child's attendance.  If they have over 15 absences this year, they are in danger of being considered chronically absent.  Middle School students who are chronically absent have a 50% greater risk of not graduating.  Additionally, students who are chronically absent will not be eligible for exam exemptions, the MAC and other activities, such as field trips, dances and clubs.

Many of our 8th graders will be going on our annual field trip to our nation's capital this coming week.  Students will be receiving tours of many of the monuments, memorials and other attractions in and around Washington, D.C.  This trip aligns well with our 7th and 8th grade social studies curriculum and provides our students an opportunity to bond with their peers and teachers, and learn some life skills as they are traveling without their parents for three nights.

Below is the link for the 7th grade field trip information and permission slip.  Paper waivers were handed out during lunch.  Completed waivers and the $15 for the trip will be collected starting Monday, March 30th.
