Agenda:

  1. Citing Shakespeare mini-lesson (one more resource)

  2. Finish reading Act 1--add to notes!

    • Recap your notes from last class.

  3. Review indirect vs direct characterization.

  4. View movie version.

    • In your notebooks, create 2 columns (one side for "Actions, Looks, Effect on Others" and one for "Speech and Thought."

    • Choose one of the following characters to analyze during the film. As you watch, document at least two observations of indirect characterization for your character based on their "Actions, Looks, or Effect on Others" in the film.

    • After we watch, go back and find a quote from the script that you believe develops your character and place this in the "Speech or Thoughts" column. PRACTICE CORRECT CITATION--I will check!

    • 7:00-9:30 (Theseus, Lysander, and Hermia)

    • 11:15-14:00 (Helena)

    • 15:55-21:55 (Mechanicals)
