Agenda:

  1. Independent reading with choice novels (15-20 minutes today)

    • What do you think about the characters right now?

    • If you had to choose a favorite, who would it be and why?

    • Least favorite?

    • What are some of the characters motivations? Who is causing the most trouble?

    • Have you had any kind of emotional reaction that has happened to any of your characters?

    • Do you find any relationships between two characters interesting or entertaining? How so?

  2. SLO--practice thesis statements about your choice novels! (Question posted on Google Classroom)

    • Write a thesis statement explaining a complex relationship between two characters in your choice novels.

  3. Dialogue review

    • Write the responses in your writer's notebooks as your journal entry for today. We will go over them together, so be ready to make connections!

  4. Workshop time on creative piece

    • Conferences!

Homework:

  • Study for dialogue quiz next class (9/7)

  • Read to your assigned pages in your choice novel. Graded small group discussion coming soon!
