Special 25th Anniversary Maths Challenge

The Maths Challenge, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the United Kingdom Mathematics Tournament (UKMT), took place on Tuesday 25th of January 2022. The Maths Team from The Leigh Academy decided to enrol the top 25 students from across year 7 to complete the Challenge.

The Challenge was an interesting one as it had one question from each paper set by UKMT over the last 25 years: generations of students from all over the UK have been challenged by questions set by this organisation.

The students who were chosen had to work hard to prepare themselves in lessons and at home to face paper which was 45 minutes long. The Maths team and the academy would like to say well done to all the students who participated in the challenge. Special congratulations to Bartek Bisowski (64%), Freddie Grange(64%) and Mario Perera (68%) for achieving top scores from our chosen group.
