Dear Parents,
First, a big thank you for joining us for the Showcase and the Show Show! Your support and enthusiasm mean so much to us, and we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did.
As we approach the end of the cycle, there’s still plenty to look forward to! Intensives are already underway, 360s are just around the corner, and we’ll wrap it all up with a festive Christmas celebration. Stay tuned for more details, and let’s finish this cycle on a high note!
It’s hard to believe, but 360s are here already! Use the link below to schedule your learner’s 360. Simply follow these steps:
Find your learner’s mentor’s name.
Select an available time slot.
Write your learner’s name in the chosen slot.
If you have any questions about the process, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!
A "360" is a holistic reflection process where learners assess their growth, strengths, and areas for improvement over the cycle. It includes feedback from multiple perspectives—self, peers, and learning guides—to give a well-rounded view of their progress.
During a 360 session, learners share their achievements, challenges, and future goals. This process helps them develop self-awareness, communication skills, and accountability. It’s also a great opportunity for families to understand how their child is growing and how to support them further.
We encourage you to discuss your child’s 360 at home to celebrate their learning journey!

We are excited to share information about the Learning Vitae (LV), a dynamic tool designed to empower learners by showcasing their growth, skills, and achievements across all learning experiences. This platform allows them to curate a personalized profile of their learning journey, which they are encouraged to explore and update regularly. For Creators and Changemakers, we encourage you to ask your learners to show you their Learning Vitae and discuss how it reflects their progress and passions.
Explorers will be introduced to the LV during their 360 preparation, starting with uploading evidence they feel most proud of.
Please click on the button below for the presentation with more information.
As part of our alignment process across all Hubs, we’re excited to introduce a unified approach to behavior expectations and protocols. This framework is designed to ensure consistency, clarity, and fairness, supporting a positive and respectful environment for all Learners and Learning Guides.
Additionally, we’ve streamlined behavior protocols to provide clear steps for addressing challenges. The process prioritizes restorative practices, encouraging learners to reflect, recognize responsibility, and find constructive solutions.
By unifying these guidelines, we aim to create a cohesive experience across all Hubs, reinforcing our shared values and commitment to a nurturing, learner-centered community.
Have a lovely Christmas and wonderful 2025. We hope to see you in person before then!
Thank you for your support.
The Learnlife Learning Team.
Dear Learnlife Community,
It's Lars here. Firstly, I wanted to thank you for your support always and enabling your learners to be part of our wonderful community. I wanted to let you know that I will sadly be leaving Learnlife for new pastures. As most of you know, I have been studying for a masters in IAAC in Distributed Innovation Design. This has brought me the opportunity to be directly offered a role in green cities as part of the Fab City Initiative as a European Project Coordinator. The projects I'm overseeing include integrating flying squirrels with meadows in Helsinki, restoring with regenerative practices hubs on the Besos river.. just to name a few! It is a dream role for me and one that will really stretch me. In order for me to grow, I have taken the opportunity to jump in with 2 feet. Learnlife has formed me in so many ways. And it really does feel like home. I will keep in contact with learners who wish to do so, and I will be back to visit often. I hope to build bridges between my future projects too.
All the very best and much love always.
Lars
The Urban Hub Team and the rest of the staff at Learnlife would like to thank Lars for years growing not only our esteemed studios, which thrive every day, but also for the love, care, support and respect they showed to the learners and learning team on a regular basis. Lars will be sorely missed by all. They better come back to say hi every so often! You go Lars!
At Learnlife, we prioritize meaningful growth over traditional grades. When a transcript is needed, learners collaborate with Learning Guides to convert self-assessments into grades. Each assessment is reviewed, and if a learner’s rating exceeds the delivered quality, we provide feedback to help them reach that level. This process makes the transcript a true reflection of their growth. Please request transcripts at least one week in advance.
We would like to recommend an exhibition currently in Barcelona by Sebastiao Salgado Exhibition which is closely related to photojournalism, a topic Creators worked on during this cycle.
It’s been an activity-packed and learning-packed week. Our highlight was to go to the Montjuic cemetery to conduct a population study lab. We then studied our data using google sheets and researched birth rates and survival curves around the world. We have also been noticing sustainable urban planning in Barcelona, and running investigations of biodiversity in various urban locations. Learner participation has been high quality, with everyone contributing with quality observations and reflections. Little by little, everyone is building their vocabulary and scientific thinking.
This week, learners immersed themselves in storytelling and creative expression. They explored journaling, played story-building games, and experimented with extended writing or different formats. Inspired by great writing, several learners created pieces for the New York Times 100-Word Memoir Contest. The week ended with a phenomenal feedback session, showcasing the incredible variety and quality of their work. It’s been a joy to see their creativity and growth!
The menus are finalized, and the excitement is building in our Pop-Up Restaurant Intensives! During this first week, we brainstormed ideas, created themes, designed menus, and developed unique branding for our one-of-a-kind restaurants. The variety of themes and the incredible graphic design work are truly impressive.
Next week, we’ll work on practicing and perfecting the dishes, with plenty of tasting along the way, as we prepare to welcome our guests. Stay tuned for updates—it’s going to be a feast for the senses!
Parent Meeting End of Cycle 1 - Dec. 11 17:30
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87606714294
Following the meeting with the learning team, there will be a Christmas Celebration hosted by the Parent Group. Everyone’s invited! December 11th 6.30 to 7.30 pm.
Please remember that you can always check your learner's attendance using the Edvoice app. If your learner will be absent or arriving late, kindly email Benedetta at benedetta@learnlife.com. Providing this information is essential for maintaining the safety and well-being of all our learners. Thank you for your cooperation!
Studios in Cycle 1 were incredibly successful. We have seen learners across the hub leveling up their outputs and reaching higher quality and satisfaction in their work. This cycle we did our best to open up the Studios to allow learners the chance to develop their own personal projects rather than be limited to a single group output. Through this, we have seen a higher level of engagement across the studios. Needless to say, we are very excited to see what comes from Cycle 2!
We want continue to reach out to our community of families in search of tools and resources that might add value to the Studio spaces. If there is anything that has collected dust at home and might find new use here in the hub, please reach out to Jim at jim@learnlife.com if you are interested in sending anything in.
We are currently looking for:
Digital and Analog cameras
Musical Instruments
Sewing Machines
Old (broken) technology
Your child can bring their own lunch daily. Alternatively, you can place an order for their lunch through our catering partner, the Healthiest Choice. If you would like further details, please email urbanhub@learnlife.com. Once learners turn 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch and breaks. If your child is in Creators and under 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch with your permission. Please make sure they bring their own cutlery. We recommend that your child also bring healthy snacks with them in case they would like to eat during breaks.
