Newsletter
Hello dear families!
Cycle 3 is off to a strong start—and it’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the final cycle of the school year!
In this edition, you’ll find updates from across our programs, a few important reminders, and some exciting news we’re happy to share with you.
Please join us on Saturday, May 17, for our first annual ALL HUB FAMILY event! This will take place at the Nautic Club at the Garraf Marina - just minutes from the R2 train station. Activities and the meal will begin at 13:00, and beach fun will continue through the afternoon. You can find all the details right here!
The joint parent hub planning committee would love to gain a sense of numbers to inform the restaurant. Please let them know if you plan to attend (and possible activity interest) on this sign up sheet.
And just a reminder that this is a family event, so Learnlife staff will not be responsible for supervision of any learners!
We are excited to welcome Leigh Fitzgerald for a visit to Barcelona the first week in May. We invite parents to join us for informal meet & greets in each location. Leigh and her family will officially relocate this summer, with Leigh's start date at Learnlife in mid-August.
Eco Hub: Monday, May 5, 10:30-11:00
Village Hub: Monday, May 5, 15:30-16:00
Urban Hub: Tuesday, May 6, 9:00-9:30
Today's children are growing up in a world vastly different from the one their parents knew—shaped by technology, social pressures, and evolving mental health challenges. This workshop equips parents with practical tools to support their children struggling with anxiety and depression, fostering understanding across generational differences. We will explore the impact of nervous system regulation, sensory sensitivities, hormonal shifts, and media influence on mental health. Parents will leave with strategies to strengthen communication, provide emotional support, and create a home environment that nurtures resilience and well-being.
Day and time: May 7th, 17:15 hrs
We are pleased to announce the upcoming "Getting the Love You Want" workshop for Learnlife couples, hosted by Caroline and Jason Bernhardt-Lanier (Ex-Learnlife Parents). They send the following message:
It’s not too late to join us!

For those new to the concept, Colonias are short overnight trips where learners travel, often to the countryside, and sometimes to another city or country, to connect, explore, and grow together. Through educational and recreational activities, learners build stronger bonds with their peers and deepen their sense of community. A few learning guides always join to support and guide the experience.
The three programs will go on their individual colonias. Please, check with the following LGs if you have any questions regarding the plan pertaining to your learner’s program:
Explorers: Gaby (gaby@learnlife.com)
Creators: Suzanne (suzanne@learnlife.com)
Changemakers: (michel@learnlife.com)
Please find attached the 2025-2026 academic calendar. For the upcoming year, we are transitioning to a two-cycle system to allow for more in-depth learning, larger projects, and better alignment with other educational systems. This change means that throughout the learning year, there will be two intensives, two showcases, and two 360s. We believe that the Learning Vitae (LV) as a tool for tracking progress will enable more frequent and effective check-ins between parents, learners, mentors and learning guides.
Later on, we will be incorporating traditional events such as Prom, the Winter Party, and St. Jordi celebrations into the calendar. Specific dates for these events will be added once they are scheduled.
AP Exams: Dates & Times
We wish all our learners the best of luck as they approach their AP exams! Here’s the full schedule to help you stay organized:

We have exciting updates regarding the AP exams for the upcoming year. As previously mentioned, the courses we will offer include:
AP English Language & Composition
AP Biology: This course will focus on the experimental part. Learners who wish to take the exam will need to study the theory independently, although we will have a Learning Guide trained in AP Biology to support them with any questions.
AP Pre-Calculus
AP Calculus AB: We will have someone trained to support this subject. However, we will not offer it as a course unless there is sufficient enrollment.
AP Modern World History: Initially, we considered offering AP Human Geography, but as our goal with APs is to ensure they are recognized by various university systems, we have opted for AP Modern History instead, as it is more broadly recognized. This course will be available to both Creators and Changemakers.

We are excited to share the Learning Vitae (LV), a dynamic tool that empowers learners to showcase their growth, skills, and achievements. This platform allows them to curate a personalized profile, which they are encouraged to update regularly.
We’re introducing a unified approach to behavior expectations and protocols across all Hubs to ensure consistency, clarity, and fairness. This framework prioritizes restorative practices, encouraging learners to reflect, take responsibility, and find constructive solutions.
Please ensure your learner brings their own cutlery to reduce waste.
Wednesdays are Salad Club—if they bring a base and one topping, they can participate.
Label all learning materials to help prevent lost items.
You can check your learner’s attendance on Edvoice at any time. If your learner will be absent or arriving late, kindly email Benedetta at benedetta@learnlife.com.
We’re always here to support you—feel free to reach out with any questions!
At Learnlife, transcripts are based on self-assessments reviewed with Learning Guides to ensure they reflect true growth—request at least one week in advance at michel@learnlife.com.

With learners reaching higher-quality outcomes and deeper engagement, especially as they developed personal projects.
