It was wonderful meeting with all of you on Wednesday. We are thrilled about the start of the new learning year and can't wait to welcome the learners to the space this Monday. This month's newsletter includes highlighted information from the parent meeting and resources that we consider useful for you and your learner during these first weeks.

Building Blocks Start
Explorers will enjoy two outings during Onboarding Week to build new friendships, spend quality time together outside academics, and practice valuable skills like listening, following instructions, and navigating the city.
Where: Parc del Nord (Parque de la Estación del Norte s/n, 08018 Barcelona)
Schedule: Leaving Urban Hub at 12:00 & Returning to Urban Hub at 16:00
Transport: Metro (Red Line to Arc de Triomf)
What to bring:
Return metro ticket or money to buy one
Games (we’ll bring balls from the Hub)
Food, snacks, or drinks to share with the group
Water bottle
Picnic blanket/throw
Hat or cap
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Change of clothes if needed
Where: Badalona Beach – Playa de los Pescadores
Schedule: Leaving Urban Hub at 9:30 & Returning to Urban Hub at 16:00
Transport: Train from Plaza Catalunya to Badalona (returning the same way)

Creators will enjoy two outings during Onboarding Week to get to know each other, spend time forming meaningful connections, and practice their social skills. One outing will be shared with the Changemakers, one will be Creators only.
Where: Parc del Fòrum
Schedule: Leaving Urban Hub at 10:00 & Returning to Urban Hub at 17:00
Transport: Metro (Yellow Line to El Maresme | Fòrum)
What to bring:

With the beginning of the year, we will have program specific meetings for you to be able to learn more about your learner's program and ask any questions you may have to the program leads.

As part of our NEASC accreditation pathway, we are excited to share our AP course offerings for 2025–2026. AP classes are university-level courses that prepare learners for higher education. Exams are optional — students may take the course for enrichment or sit the official AP exam in May 2026 (extra cost applies).
Courses offered: AP Precalculus, AP Biology, AP World History (Modern), AP English Language & Composition, AP Calculus*, AP Economics*. * Only if enough learners register.

Your child can bring their own lunch daily. Alternatively, you can place an order for their lunch through our catering partner, the Healthiest Choice or Mama Cuina.
Please note that they have not updated their emails, but you can get their contact details to message them directly.
Once learners turn 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch and breaks. If your child is in Creators and under 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch with your permission. Please make sure they bring their own cutlery. We recommend that your child also bring healthy snacks with them in case they would like to eat during breaks.
Laptop and charger, Pencil Case (pens, pencils, markers / colors, highlighters, eraser, sharpener), Notebooks (lined and grid) of choice, Transparent Folder to keep loose papers, Water bottle, Headphones, Lunch & Cutlery (Important!)
