Dear Eco Hub families,
And just like that, we’re waving goodbye to March! It may have been a short month, but we filled it with so many wonderful activities, including the Pioneer-led Adelantes that truly made us proud!
With Semana Santa almost upon us, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the 360s in the coming days, culminating in our Showcase on April 10th!
Warmly,
The Eco Hub Team
This month we welcomed back Barack (Jean Habumugisha) from Learnlife Rwanda to the Hub. He shared an inspiring story with our learners, sparking meaningful conversations and curiosities. This was a definite highlight for our learners who always warmly welcome Barack with open arms!
Please find in the following link Eco Hub’s calendar for the academic year 2025-2026. Please note there might be additions to it, and we will send an updated version with the new add-ons.
This is a gentle reminder for learners to arrive by 08:50 to ensure they are ready to start Real Talk promptly at 09:00 to avoid interruptions when the session has started and help your learner(s) transition into the morning. Thank you!
Please find the menu for April here.
For the second year running, we're thrilled to partner with Mindvalley for the Mindvalley University (MVU) Youth Program, uniting two organisations with a shared vision for lifelong learning and holistic personal development. With an innovative and exciting programme for kids and teens aged 6 to 17 years old, this year's edition in Amsterdam promises to deliver. This isn’t summer school. This is next-level, real-world learning. And all this is happening while parents are engaging in their own Mindvalley University weekly programme and personal growth journey. Join us for this transformative learning experience for the whole family! Sign up here to register (exclusive $400 discount available on all adult MVU tickets for Learnlife families & community)
The Parent Hub for all 3 hubs is organising an All Hubs Community Party! Please see the flyer for more details. More info to come soon!
Starting in September, dismissal at the Eco Hub will be at 14:30 on Fridays only. This decision has been carefully considered over many years, and we believe it is essential for maintaining the integrity of our programming. The change serves two key purposes:
1. Dedicated time for team collaboration and professional development
Currently, there is no opportunity for the Learning Guide Assistants, Community and Space Hosts to meet with the rest of the Learning Team. This weekly time will allow for alignment across instructional design, behavior expectations, and social-emotional wellness for all learners.
2. Consistency and alignment across all hubs
The Urban Hub and Village Hub already have shorter learner days on Fridays (9:00-13:00 or 10:00-14:00). While the Eco Hub will still run a 5.5-hour day (9:00-14:30), this schedule adjustment creates a two-hour window for collaboration with other hubs and the broader organization.
We understand that this change may create a childcare challenge for some families. The Parent Hub is aware of the shift and is open to brainstorming Friday afternoon options with us. We are also exploring partnerships with local community organizations to offer childcare for a small fee on an as-needed basis.
We appreciate your support and look forward to working together on creative solutions for learners while giving our team this essential time.
The notes from the Parent Coffee are available here. The session focused on the various pathways available to learners at the Urban Hub.
