Earning College Credit at LHS
LHS students can earn college credit while in high school through the following methods:
Advanced Placement (AP) Courses – Students can take AP classes at LHS or through Virtual High School. AP students must take the AP exam in May; those who earn qualifying scores may receive college credit. For details on AP testing, contact Mr. VanLinge.
Career Tech Programs – Some Career Tech programs at LHS offer opportunities for college credit through:
College Credit Plus (CCP) courses embedded in the program (appearing on the student’s schedule and transcript; an official transcript must be requested from the college upon graduation).
Articulation Agreements and CTAG courses, which may provide college credit—career tech teachers and the career tech director can provide details (see the Career Technical section of this guide for more information).
College Credit Plus (CCP) Program – The CCP program allows students to earn college credit and high school credit at the same time by successfully completing and passing a course through the participating Ohio college of their choosing. For more details, visit the CCP page on the counseling website.
