Transition to High School

Welcome....

We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Les Beaucamps High School. We look forward to working together with you for the happiness, wellbeing and success of your child. We are excited about helping your child with their learning in the years to come, and providing them with a supportive, enjoyable and challenging education.

Before the new school year begins we would like to ensure that your questions are answered and that all preparations are made. Please find key information below, helping to ensure that your child’s transition into Year 7 is smooth and successful.

Transition Events

Full Transition Days:

The purpose of these days is to give an opportunity for all children to become familiar with their new surroundings, to meet staff and to get to know their new year group.

Tuesday 11th June Transition Day 1 (all students)
Monday 24th June Transition Day 2 (all students)

Inclusion/SEN Transition Days:

To compliment the usual transition days, where applicable, some students may also be invited to attend additional transition sessions, which will be held after school at Les Beaucamps High School.

The aim of this additional transition visit is to offer an extra opportunity for students to meet some of their peers and key members of staff prior to the main transition days, plus get to know the school environment. There may be additional sessions after this date and you will be notified of these in due course, if they are applicable to your child.

Tuesday 4th June - SEND & Inclusion Transition Info. Session (parents/carers only) 6pm - 7pm
Monday 10th June - Enhanced Transition Day 1 - 10:45am to 12pm
Monday 17th June - Enhanced Transition Day 2 - 10:45am to 12:15pm
Wednesday 26th June - Enhanced Family Session - 4:15pm to 5:30pm
Monday 8th July - Enhanced Transition Day 3 - 10:45am to 12:15pm

Transition Evening for Parents and Carers:

We also warmly invite you to join us for a Parents and Carers Information Evening. We look forward to welcoming you to our school and will provide further information, answer any questions you may have, and introduce you to your child’s tutor. Your child is not required to attend and the evening should finish by 7:00pm.

Student Questionnaire

At Les Beaucamps High, all staff provide support for all of our students. If you have received support in primary school (or your previous school) from the learning support team, or you feel that you should have received some help, please let us know by completing our short form.

Someone at home can help you to fill out this form, or you can ask a teacher in your primary school for help.

Uniform:

Our school uniform details are available here. Items of uniform are available from retailers locally, and our PTA will have a stall at school during the transition evening as well as a second-hand uniform sale. We will provide further details at the transition evening.
