PSHCE

Curriculum intent:

To provide learners with knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare them for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. Within Physical, Social, Health & Citizenship Education (PSHCE), we encourage learners to develop their own views and facilitate topical discussion and debate on various themes.

We focus on the three strands of Health, Relationships and Living in the Wider World in a spiral curriculum. Teaching will equip learners with the skills and knowledge to explore that helps children and young people stay healthy, safe and prepared for life – and work – in modern Britain. Learners will also gain knowledge of various job roles in a local and global context.  PSHCE at LBHS is supported by several on-island agencies and charities.

The subject is taught by two specialist PSHCE teachers who are experienced in delivering these aspects of the curriculum which form a crucial part of all learner’s personal development.

At Les Beaucamps High School, we work closely with SHARE (Sexual Health & Relationship Education), please find a link to their website here.

At Les Beaucamps High School, we use PSHCE Association's programme of study in order to support and guide our curriculum. The PSHCE Association's programme of study can be found here.
