On the 1st of march 2023, a group of kids from bases 4 and 5 went to the North Counties Ki o Rahi event at Bruce Pulman Park.
Once we arrived we all sat down to listen to Mr Feau and the other people that organised the event. They explained some of the main rules and how the day will look like.
The teams we played against were Mangapikopiko School and Kereru Park Campus.
We played a lot of games and it was a very fun day. We also represented our school by showing our TREC values on the field and as a crowd as well. Overall we came 2nd out of three teams.

On the 1st of march 2023, some of Base 4 and 5 went to play Cricket at Bruce Pulman Park.
Once we arrived we all got comfortable and went our separate ways to our places. Some went to Ki o Rahi and the others went to Cricket. We all were good at playing cricket and gave it our best go! Everyone had a chance to bat, bowl and field. We all had time to chat, eat, take photos and practise playing Cricket in our break times. It was a great day and at the same time we all had fun.

On Friday 25th February 2023, some students were selected to go and participate in NC swimming at Massey Park Pools against 12 other schools (including ACG) and one of those students was me! By the time we had reached there was still time to practise until the competition started. When the races started, all the 100m freestyle and backstroke. Out of the people in our school, some of us had come first or second. There was a break between each race so that we could rest. Soon it was my turn. I competed in the 50m freestyle race and made quite a few mistakes which were the littlest things that can make a big difference, but the main part was that I had fun. After 2 hours, Khloe, Peta and I competed in the grade 6 50m freestyle race and even though we had lost, we still did our best to work as a team. The competition was over and all of us had changed. Later that afternoon, most of us went back to school while the rest went home.

They have drawn their pepeha with their mountain, river, family tree, school and a sun that represents them and their Whānau.
They coloured them in very well and some have added things like houses, cities and where they live.

Upcoming tournaments that are going to happen are the North counties Touch and Football on Tuesday 7th of March and they are going to be challenging other schools.
We also have something very exciting that is coming up for Base 4 and it is… Camp! We have gone to many camps before and it was very fun and that is happening on week 8 Term 1, Wednesday to Friday. The camp we are going to is Camp Adair. We have been to Camp Adair before and it was really fun but this time we’re going to be doing other fun activities we have never done before.

During Week 4 UC4L, Miss Raj’s group started making a board game or a digital game. The theme of our games were underwater sea creatures. We had to pick if we would do it on cardboard or on scratch. My group and I did a scratch game. We had to copy the video so we could make the game. To make our games we followed the 'Innovation model' where we went through a process of understanding, designing, implementing and refining.
In Miss Brands group, they have been working on designing sports games for base 1 to play.
Week 5 for UC4L we continued to finish our games and started doing our website.
