Kia ora Base 4 Whānau,
We've had a jam packed first couple of weeks! Our tamariki have been working hard in all areas, especially their UC4L, getting ready for Enterprise on Wednesday 15th November.
This term, we are currently on 90.5% attendance. This is a HUGE achievement! We want to keep this percentage above 90% to be able to get a pizza party at the end of the year.
Our goal this term is attendance, we want to be the highest attending base in the school!
For the past few weeks Base 4 has been focusing on their enterprise projects. This week in particular, a massive focus has been on their shark tanks presentation. Their shark tanks include hooking their audience and having a pitch for what they want to sell. They have been focusing on the understand phase in the UC4L innovation model by researching about their cost, budget, profit, tax and items they will need. They have been showing awesome team work skills and great confidence when presenting their shark tanks. Base 4 is now in the process of seeing whether their pitch gets approved or not by our sharks Mr Feau and Mr Williams. Wish them luck!
Another fantastic 2 weeks of athletics with Counties Manukau Sport. These past 2 weeks we've tried shotput and discus. We worked a lot on transferring body weight and making sure our form is correct to protect our shoulders.
As we have Enterprise Night (15th November) coming up, we have been practicing how to write advertisements for our products.

On Tuesday the 24th of October some of Base 4 students went out to Bruce Pulman Park to play at the North Counties touch, where they versed other schools. Everyone did an amazing job showing TREC values the entire time, participating and having a go! The Kauri Flats Year 5/6 Mixed A team came second overall. Such a great achievement from this group of students that represented our school.
