This term our tamariki are rotating around other curriculum areas for three weeks at a time. For the past three weeks, our tamariki have been learning about social science (history of ANZAC day), science (living world) and the arts (dance, drama, music and visual art).
For social science this week we made ANZAC biscuits. They were delicious! This is the recipe we used:
This week the students presented their shark tanks for their UC4L projects. Check out their shark tanks below and what our students are doing their projects about this term.
If you feel you would be able to support any of these projects by coming in for a block this term, please email one of the teachers. We would love your support with our tamariki.
On Monday, Term 2 Week 3 2023 Base 4 went to the museum for something to with our UC4L. There was this one room called the volcano room and it was my favourite room because in there was a house and me and my group and my mum lined up. Then we went in and we sat down on one of the couches, it was like a living room. Once the door closed a minute later the tv turned on and the news was on. It was talking about an earthquake it was coming then we looked outside and it was starting in the water. The tv said no signal then turned off. Suddenly the house started to shake! - Lexi
We have been preparing for cross country by doing shuttles and whānau race competitions. So far Tangaroa and Mahuika have won both completing the race in under 30 seconds! We will continue practising our running right up until cross country in week 8.
