Kia ora Base 4 Whānau,
Enterprise is next week! How has this term gone so quickly?!
This term, we are currently on 88.4% attendance. Unfortunately, we've dropped quite a bit this past fortnight and with all the exciting learning we're doing we want everyone at school. We want to keep this percentage above 90% to be able to get a pizza party at the end of the year.
Our goal this term is attendance, we want to be the highest attending base in the school!
Our tamariki have made some incredible progress this year, take a look at one of the awesome pieces of writing about our two base dogs, Clyde and Ted.
Clyde and Ted’s play day.
One day Ted and Clyde were playing together in the backyard. While they were jumping around and playing they saw something over the fence. It was a green ball Clyde and Ted got super excited. They wanted to play with the ball but first they had to come up with a plan. How were they going to get the ball?
Clyde and Ted were thinking about how they were going to get the ball when they got an idea that if they tried to make some steps that way they could walk on the steps, go over the fence and get the ball. So that is what they did. They made some steps. But when they went to walk on the steps they saw that the steps were not high enough to go over the fence so then Clyde and Ted had to think of a different plan so they went to sit down and started to think.
When all of a sudden Clyde and Ted had another plan, what if they went and made a ladder. Clyde and Ted were confident that their plan was going to work. But when they made the ladder thay were going to start going up to go over the the when the ladder just fell to pieces Clyde and Ted did not have any other choice but to give up so Clyde and Ted went and just sat down in a very sad mood when all of a sudden Mrs A came with a brand new ball for them to play with together. Clyde and Ted were happy with the ball. While they played with the ball it started to bounce around then went over the fence Clyde and Ted stopped for a second looked at each other and said “oh well” then went inside to have a rest.
This week Layla and Elliot went and picked up some ice cream that Tip Top kindly donated for Base 4 Enterprise. We would love to thank Layla's Aunty Bec, who hooked us up with some Jelly Tip ice creams and Choc Bars! If you want to get your hands on some of these goodies come to the Sugar Swirl stall on Enterprise night and get an ice cream for only 1 ticket.
