We have until Wednesday Week 10 to get our attendance to 90% and a HERO post will be sent out Thursday if we will have a pizza party.
These past 2 weeks have been massive for Base 4. We have come to the end of our making stage and are now onto reflections. We began with our Final Shark Tanks, which will be posted on HERO at the end of the term, and one group too all the amazing donations to the SPCA! Check out their video and some of our finished projects below.
Congratulations to our boys and girls who placed 3rd and 1st, respectively. Amazing mahi put in by every tamariki who went! We are incredibly proud of all the effort your put into your training which showed at North Counties!
On Tuesday 5th of September some of the year 5 - 8's went to the North Counties Basketball. We had an assembly about rules before any of the basketball games started. My basketball team had 4 games so I'm pretty sure we had a little break before getting on the courts. Our first game started so my team and I headed down to court 4 to go up against the first school in basketball, and that school was Conifer Grove. We sadly lost against Conifer Grove but that let us know what to improve on in the next games. Our second game was starting and we headed to court 4 again, but this time we were up against Kelvin Road. After we won our second game we went to our third, we also won that. Then for our last game before finals we went up against Papakura Central and we also won that. After a one hour break the hosts started to announce the teams who were in the finals and of course Conifer Grove came first but KFS year 5 - 6 girls (which is my team) came second. We went to court two where we were versing Conifer Grove and started to warm up. After some hard work of trying and trying the final round ended, so we were silent waiting for the results and our team WON!!! We were so excited.

We've had a massive few weeks of sport with tamariki going to Basketball and the next day having our Whānau "Have A Go" day! Tamariki walked to Bruce Pulman Park, in whānau colours, and were able to try an array of sports. A huge shout out to Mr Au for his amazing organisation, the tamariki had a fantastic day! See all the photos in the folders below.
This term we've been working very hard learning our school Haka! This week, we learned the words and sign for Six60's Pepeha. Watch the videos below to see the amazing mahi the tamariki have made.
We were lucky enough to have a turn, during Junior Have A Go day, on the inflatable obstacle course. The tamariki had an amazing time and the smiles and laughter were contagious! See all the photos in the folder below.
