During your school's induction, make sure provisional educator knows how to use Skyward, Mastery Connect, and Canvas.
Discuss staff norms such as dress code, Friday dress, and lunch areas.
SEPTEMBER

**Review the spreadsheet and make sure all the information is current and correct and that all provisional educators are assigned a trained mentor.
Make sure teacher's name is their legal name recorded on CACUTS.
Schedule a time to meet informally meet with mentors and provisional teachers to make sure the mentor assignment is a good fit. Make necessary changes before October.
Assist Mentor in making sure provisional educators have proper IEP and 504 documents.
Help provisional teacher prepare for JPAS
Encourage mentors to complete their observations and debriefings with provisional educators.
OCTOBER

Schedule a meeting with Administrator to review spreadsheets
Think of possible PD items for mentor and provisional educator inservice. Some are listed below.
Review lesson plans and talk about how they can be improved
JPLS issues and concerns
Meeting the needs of individual students
Review spreadsheets and make sure all information is current and correct. If new teachers have been added, please make those changes before the end of the month.
Encourage mentors to complete their observations and debriefings with provisional educators.
NOVEMBER

**Review the spreadsheet and make sure all the information is current and correct.
Think of possible PDs that will benefit teachers in the survival/disillusionment phase. It may be possible to invite someone from the Health and Wellness Dept. to instruct on self care.
Review spreadsheets and make corrections as necessary.
If new mentors have been assigned, make sure they have met with you to go over the contract and their duties as a mentor.
DECEMBER
Coaches
**Review the spreadsheet and make sure all the information is current and correct.
Make sure all provisional teachers are assigned a trained mentor.
Make sure teacher's name is their legal name recorded on CACUTS.
Review spreadsheets and make changes to spreadsheets as necessary.
Meet with mentors and discuss ways to help provisional educators make goals to reinforce management upon their return from winter break.
Remember, all teachers are in the disillusionment stage to some extent during this month. Do what you can to lift spirits and be an constant advocate for them and the profesion.
JANUARY

**Review the spreadsheet and make sure all the information is current and correct. New hires after the second week in January will not count this year as a full year. They will be first year provisional again next year.
Plan for your Mentor training based on information received from your LM Training
Although teachers are still in a state of disillusionment, they are coming back from a much needed winter break. Encouragement is essential during this period. Encourage your mentors to work closely with provisional educators to strengthen management and reinforce their management plan.
Start looking at 3rd year provisional educators for potential mentors. Encourage them to take New Mentor Training found on JPLS.
FEBRUARY
Schedule a mentor meeting for those mentors at your school
Encourage mentors to complete their observations and debriefings with provisional educators.
Encourage mentors to help provisional educators prepare for upcoming parent conferences.
MARCH
**Review the spreadsheet and make sure all the information is current and correct. Mark in the "$" column if the mentor is half time (.5) or full time (1).
Review spreadsheets and work with administration to determine if mentors should continue next year and if you want to get more teachers trained to be mentors.
APRIL
With your administrator, consider those teachers that would be good mentors for the next year
MAY
Schedule a mentor meeting for those mentors at your school. Use this time to reflect on your Coaching Plan and make goals to improve.
