Provisional educators should be moving into a phase of teaching that sees beyond oneself. Now that they have a year behind them, they should be more comfortable looking to student data and improvement and adjusting their teaching to meet those student needs. Goals should reflect that movement.
Review lesson plans and talk about they can be improved
Increase student involvement
instructional strategies that meet the needs of diverse students
Align assessment with objective
Discuss concerns about students who may be struggling and how to implement Tier 1 interventions
Provide support as needed for grading, skyward, and report cards
Review need for parent communication for struggling students
Reflect on JPAS Goals
Discuss balance and priorities - what is needed most for student improvement?
If mentor has not completed an informal observation, meet with provisional educator to discuss a time to observe based provisional educator's current goals and provide constructive feedback
Provide emotional support
Revisit goals set in September and adjust as needed.
