Mentors
If you are a new mentor with the teacher, introduce yourself and get to know each other.
Establish a consistent meeting time- what kind of support and help do they need?
Sign Mentor Contract (To be kept with school; mentor and provisional educator may want to keep a copy for records)
You can receive up to 90 hours for relicensure if you log your time. Begin a mentoring log to track hours.
Observe provisional educator and provide constructive feedback

Review any district and/or school policies such as:
Attendance
SLOs
Legislative money
Substitute procedures
Grading policy
Copy room
Collaborate and share ideas for the first day and first week of school
Reflect with mentee their classroom management plan and what changes they need to make for the new school year.
Discuss upcoming SECONDARY parent/teacher conferences.
Provide emotional support as needed
At the end of the month, reflect and discuss when wen well and what needs to be changed. Set appropriate goals.
