****Set up an observation time before JPAS. Use this time to complete a "pre-JPAS" and help address any issues before the JPAS observation by administration.
Review provisional educators’s classroom management plan and help them reflect on how it is working
Answer questions about JPAS evaluations
Discuss assessment (common formative assessments, testing procedures, benchmarks and planning, and ethics)
Help create 3 days of emergency substitute plans and put in a location that is easy to find
Revisit grading policy
Scheduling field trips/field trip protocol
Review bell to bell teaching and daily schedules
Discuss concerns about students who might be struggling or needing interventions, help provisional educator with procedures for collecting data
Observe provisional educator and provide constructive feedback
Provide emotional support as needed
Review Spirit Week and Homecoming activities (Secondary) and what to expect with regard to possible interruptions in schedules.
Make sure provisional educators have received the proper documentation for SpEd to provide proper services contained in IEP or 504 documents.
Encourage provisional educator to create a classroom profile sheet.
Together, reflect on September, discuss what went well, and set appropriate goals to address items that need refining.
