Jointly organized by the Hangzhou Garden and Cultural relics Bureau and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous region Museum, the "mysterious Kingdom on the Silk Road-Xixia Fine Cultural relics Exhibition" hosted by the Hangzhou Museum was held on January 22 in the mobile exhibition hall on the second floor of the South Hall of the Hangzhou Museum. this exhibition focuses on 96 sets of Xixia cultural relics unearthed in Ningxia Hui Autonomous region since the founding of the people's Republic of China, and there is no lack of precious cultural relics in the exhibits.

These include gilded bronze cattle and other national treasure relics and 27 national first-class cultural relics unearthed from the Xixia King Mausoleum, which is known as the "Oriental Pyramid".

It comprehensively demonstrates the brilliant and unique civilization created by Xixia, a mysterious kingdom on the Silk Road, from the aspects of Xixia characters, Xixia crafts, Xixia Buddhism, Xixia architecture and so on.

The Xixia Dynasty, founded by the Dangxiang clan in 1038 AD, had a strong military strength, founded the western part of the country, and dominated Heshuo for nearly 200 years.

In its heyday, the territory of "the Yellow River in the east, Yumen in the west, Xiaoguan in the south, and the desert in the north".

Dingli with Song and Liao in the early stage, and confrontation with the Southern Song and Jin in the later period, experienced ten masters and enjoyed the country for 189 years.

After nearly two centuries of prosperity, it has experienced gold, iron, horse, war, advocated culture and education, developed the economy, and created brilliant achievements and splendid culture.

In 1227, Xixia became the first country to fall under the iron feet of Mongolian cavalry on Genghis Khan's western expedition. Cultural relics and classics were destroyed, and the once ancient kingdom was buried in the dust of history, becoming a little-known "mysterious ancient country".

Since the 1970s, there have been important discoveries of Xixia sites and cultural relics in Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and other areas.

A large number of documents and cultural relics have been unearthed that embody the wisdom and talents of the Xixia people and show the material and spiritual life of the Xixia people.

These brilliant historical and cultural heritages have finally unveiled the mysterious veil, making the charming Xixia culture gradually clear in people's field of vision.

The magnificent Buddhist architecture, the exquisite stone carving skills, the exuberant Xixia characters, the beautiful metal products, and the rough ceramic products are all memories of the cultural traditions of the Dangjie nationality. it is also another powerful interpretation of the rich culture of the Han and Tibetan nationalities.

This exhibition is the first joint exhibition held by the Hangzhou Museum and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous region Museum, which deepens the cultural exchanges between the two museums and even the two regions, and presents a rich exotic cultural feast to the winter Hangzhou as the Spring Festival approaches, bringing a wisp of desert solitary smoke from the foot of Yinshan and the top of Helan to the poetic and moist south of the Yangtze River.

The exhibition will last for three months, after which the two museums will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and in the near future, the original exhibition of the Hangzhou Museum will also be unveiled in the Ningxia Museum.
