Gold seal of "Wen Di Xing Xi" - “文帝行玺”金印

The gold seal of Wendi Xingxi was unearthed in the chest of the owner of the tomb. Printing side length 3.1 cm, width 3 cm, through 1.8 cm, weight 148.5 g, gold content is 98%. The four characters "Wen Di Xing Xi" are engraved on the printing surface, which should be the official seal issued by the King Wen of Nanyue.

The gold seal button is a wandering dragon, coiled into an "s" shape. The dragon head extends to a corner. The scales and claws on the dragon body are carved after being cast. The bulge of the Dragon waist can be used to wear the seal ribbon. At the time of excavation, there were traces of use and collision on the grooves on the gold printing surface and the four walls of the printing platform. Obviously, it was a practical object before the tomb owner died. The main feature of the "Wendi Xingxi" gold seal is that the dragon is used as the button, and the gold is made of gold. It is called the imperial seal illegally. It breaks the rule that the emperor used the seal of the emperor in Qin and Han Dynasties to use white jade as the material and tiger as the seal button. The "Wendi Xingxi" gold seal is the largest gold seal of Western Han Dynasty found in Archaeology in China, and it is also the only one of the longnui imperial seals of Han Dynasty. In addition, it is the most reliable material evidence of the identity of the owner of the tomb, and has very precious historical and cultural value.
