The Tibet Museum is located in the southeast corner of Norbulingka, Lhasa. It is the only first-class museum with modern functions in Tibet. It was opened on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of the democratic reform in Tibet in October 1999.

The Tibet Museum is not only the largest cultural relics collection, protection, research and exhibition center in Tibet, but also an important place for people to understand, understand and study Tibetan history and traditional culture. It is also an important window for displaying the achievements of Tibet’s socialist construction and reform and opening up. It is an important landmark building and a uniquely charming humanistic landscape in Lhasa.

The Tibet Museum has distinctive features of traditional Tibetan architecture and art, and at the same time deeply embodies the practical features and artistic charm of modern architecture.
