The Han Dynasty

The gold and silver wares of Han Dynasty are another peak of gold and silver processing technology in ancient China, especially the process of wire pinching and welding gold beads. The process of pinching silk is to cut the thin pieces of gold and silver into thin strips and slowly twist them into silk. The process of welding gold beads is to cut the gold pieces and then heat them to agglomerate into grains, so that they can be condensed at one end of the gold and silver wire for standby.

Silk pinching and gold and silver beads are usually used together. Many objects are not only the fine works of thread pinching, but also the masterpieces of gold and silver beads. The small gold bubbles unearthed from the Han Dynasty tomb in dayunshan are shaped like buttons, with a diameter of only 1 cm. They are hammered out into hemispheres with thin gold pieces. Around them, there are double edged ornaments twisted with gold wires. On the top of the bubbles, there are also petals twisted with gold wires and very small gold beads welded. The craft is extremely exquisite. Because similar objects have been unearthed from the tombs of Zhongshan king in Mancheng and Nanyue King's tombs in Guangzhou, it is generally believed that the specifications of this kind of gold and silver ornaments are very high.
