Koshitha Kaumadi Kohomange (Year 13) and Preethi Ravindran (Year 11) were selected for the "GirlBoss Edge: Tech for Good" accelerator, a 10-day online program designed for young women passionate about technology and social impact in the July holidays.
Amanda Henderson attended "We the Women," a hackfest in Auckland during July Holidays where she and her team developed tech-based solutions for gender equality. She called the experience "life-changing" and gained valuable skills in teamwork and pitching.
I was selected to attend We the Women, a groundbreaking two-day hackfest run by GirlBoss NZ at Spark HQ in Auckland. Alongside 100 other young women aged 17–25, I worked in a team to develop tech-based solutions to real-world issues aligned with UN Global Goal #5 – Gender Equality. It was the most valuable experience; collaborating with women from such diverse backgrounds and experience levels was truly life-changing. I gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to be an effective team member, how to turn an idea into a viable pitch, and built connections that will stay with me. I highly recommend We the Women to any girl in STEM—it’s an inspiring and empowering experience. ~ Amanda Henderson (Year 13)
