Students in New Zealand need opportunities to develop knowledge and skills with Digital Technologies so they are equipped to respond to rapid changes in our society. This subject has the potential to strengthen the appeal to students of Digital Technologies as a specialist subject and to connect students with a range of enterprising and innovative employment opportunities and tertiary pathways.

Note that there is a fair portion of documenting in Programming such as the design, development and testing process of the digital outcomes using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets and Slides) and/or Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Digital Technologies: MEDIA focus

LEVEL 1

  • using media tools to produce digital media outcomes.

  • The tools used to design digital outcomes are ADOBE Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.

  • develop a database using Microsoft Access .

LEVEL 2

  • using advanced media tools to produce digital media outcomes using ADOBE Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.

  • develop an advanced database using Microsoft Access in conjunction with Microsoft Excel are also used.

LEVEL 3

  • using complex media tools to produce digital media outcomes using ADOBE Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.

  • develop a complex relational database using Microsoft Access in conjunction with Microsoft Excel .
