The Content Cafe was established to provide faculty with a starting point to begin building the online content they wish to provide for a course. This process content coupled with the faculty provided subject matter content will become the course content viewable by their students.
IU Faculty may request templates to be imported to either their personal mastershell or an upcoming course. There are 2 templates available:
Pre Fixe Template
A La Carte Template
These templates will provide faculty line items with preset settings and gradebook criteria to begin importing the faculty course content in a sequential and organized format. To request a template from the Office of Curriculum & Instruction, complete the Custom Course Import Request form below.
The Pre Fixe Template provides faculty with an assortment of different activities from which to use for a given week or unit. Once imported faculty can opt to include some, or all of the components at their discretion.
Should you choose to omit an activity simply DELETE the line item in edit mode and it will be removed from your list and the course gradebook.
Faculty may also choose to add an additional assignment or discussion to the existing list. To do so, highlight the item you wish to add and hit DUPLICATE. A second item will appear with the word (copy). Select the pencil and rename the 2nd item.
Once the general outline for the course is completed, faculty can begin to customize and load their content into each line item as they see fit.
All of the components of the Pre Fixe template are pre-established in the gradebook as shown in this example and based on standardized point values associated with IU Rubric Templates.
The A La Carte Template provides faculty with an assortment of different activities from which to use for a given week or unit. Once imported faculty can opt to include some, or all of the components at their discretion.
