Rubrics are advanced grading forms that are useful for ensuring consistent grading practices. Rubrics consist of a set of criteria and an evaluation scale with levels corresponding to point values. The raw rubric score is calculated as a sum of all criteria grades. The final grade is calculated by comparing the actual score with the worst/best possible score.
There are rubrics currently pre-established in Moodle:
Minor Assignments [40 points] - titled - CAPS - Grading Rubric for Assignments Shared template
Major Assignments [100 points] - titled - CAPS - Grading Rubric for Final Summary Paper Shared template
Presentations [100 points] - titled CAPS - Grading Rubric for Presentation Shared template
Open the assignment you wish to score and select Grade.
The grading rubric will be on the right hand side of your screen. After reviewing the work, click on each column you feel best represents the student performance. The column chosen will change to green.
Add your comments &/or feedback and then upload any files you wish attached. Remember to save your work. The resulting calculated score will post to the student gradebook.
