The plan for our Kart is to gain energy by motion to charge our battery during operation.
First we wanted to use piezo elements to create electric power by the vibrations that exist during driving a Kart. But the first tests with these elements showed that the gained power is in a microwatt range. So this could not be a solution for our Kart.
So we decided to use a generator to convert a movement into electrical energy. Such a system is tested by Audi (https://newatlas.com/audi-erot-electrical-suspension/44848/).
We want to use the vibrations during the operation of our Kart to create a movement which drives the generator. A sprung mass could be used to drive the generator which creates the electrical energy.
Due to Corona and therefore a lack of time we are sadly still in the planning phase for the energy harvesting. We will follow up on it and give an update on this website.
