for Anti-Poverty Programme

Who is this programme for: 

Senior leaders or FaCE (Family and Community Engagement) officers tasked with influencing and effecting positive change in addressing poverty in schools and settings.  

Programme objectives:  

This programme has been designed to provide understanding of the impact of poverty upon attainment in Wales, approaches to ameliorating such impact and the provision of a template to enable all schools and settings to develop an effective anti-poverty strategy.  

Programme Outline: 

• To provide context to the current levels of poverty in Wales and the region​ 

• Understand how poverty impacts on learners, families and the wider community, and what this can mean for schools​ 

• Review what your school currently does to mitigate the impact of poverty​ 

• Review the approaches and resources which can support the development of a strategic plan to mitigate poverty in individual settings, in addition to sharing a template for adopting a strategic approach to addressing the impact of poverty.
