The Brynteg cluster, is a cluster of 6 schools in Bridgend, South Wales. 

In this video, the cluster share how they are planning for progression in writing: agreeing a common approach and terminology for the teaching of grammar for writing 

Newtown High School is a mixed English medium secondary school, there are 950 pupils on roll across 2 campuses (one rural campus and one urban), where 19% of pupils are in receipt of free school meals.  

In this example, staff from the school discuss tne approach to, and impact of, writing across the curriculum. There is a particular focus on writing for purpose, through the use of Sue Palmer’s text skeletons.
