Curriculum for Wales Professional Learning Offer

Professional learning will be central to ensuring that all school staff have the professional knowledge and skills to deliver on the education reforms that are well underway in Wales. Regional and partnership teams work collaboratively to plan and deliver coherent professional learning programmes across Wales.  

To support all schools and settings across Wales in realising the Curriculum for Wales, a comprehensive professional learning programme has been developed by the cross regional Professional Learning team. This evidence-based offer integrates all elements of the wider reform and supports all practitioners with sessions for leaders, teachers, teaching assistants and governors.  

The sessions include a blend of theory and practical examples from schools and settings from around Wales. Furthermore, many sessions throughout the Summer term 2023 will offer schools an opportunity for discussions with fellow school colleagues from across Wales.  

The Programme for 2023/24 has now been published, please see the brochure below for key dates. Sessions are available for both Senior Leaders and Middle Leaders/Teachers with a focus on progression and assessment. These sessions will provide a mixture of reviewing policy guidance and practical support for practitioners. 

Each session from the Curriculum for Wales Professional Learning Programme is being recorded for access after the session. You are also able to download the PowerPoint slides below. We would ask you to record your attendance, to help us to understand who is accessing the materials across Wales.

• How each AoLE is structured and organised 

• The statements of what matters and the key concepts contained within the  rationales that sit beneath them within each AoLE 

• The principles of progression in relation to each AoLE
