It is with great joy and excitement that I introduce myself as the newly appointed Headteacher of Pembroke Dock Community School. For those of you who do not know me, I have been a Senior Leader and class teacher at the school for twenty-three years and have been Head of Years 5 and 6 for the last ten years, more recently taking on the role as lead of our whole school nurture provisions. I am humbled and privileged to have been selected by the Governing Body to build upon the successes of our magnificent school.
As a parent of two children, I know the importance of a happy and inspiring school experience that truly brings out the best in children. I strongly believe that our children deserve the very best education and alongside our wonderful and dedicated staff, I will aim to ensure your child/children thrive academically, emotionally and socially. I want Pembroke Dock Community School to be a safe place where children can discover and nurture their talents, without barriers, through sporting, creative and academic opportunities and have a voice in the school’s development. Where their rights are upheld by the whole school community to ensure an equitable experience for each child. Our school will be a place where children learn to be respectful, ethical, compassionate and proud citizens of Pembroke Dock, Wales and the wider world; gaining a true understanding of what it means to be part of a community.
However, none of this can be achieved without your support. You are key educators in your children’s lives, and I believe it is important that your voices are heard too. I want us to work in partnership to provide the very best school experience for your children. Please feel free to pop in and speak with one of our staff if you have any immediate issues to discuss. Alternatively, keep a look out for our half-termly coffee mornings that will be held in school.
As your new Headteacher, I will strive to create the best education for your children and ensure they, and you, feel valued as a member of our school community. Pembroke Dock Community School will be a place where successes are celebrated, and challenges are faced together.
I will aim to be at the front of the school each morning and evening so please come and introduce yourself if you don’t already know me. I look forward to seeing you there!
