Free School Meals
Free school Meals
Early Years
Even though we offer full time education to our Early Years pupils, they are still only classed as part time pupils until the start the term after their fourth birthday. Part time pupils are not included in the new Universal Primary Free School Meals scheme and therefore any meals these pupils have from our school kitchen have to be paid for by parents or guardians. However, if you are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits named below, the school will pay for these meals as part of the PDG grant. You will still need to apply for eFSM using the processes below. The school is notified of each Early Years pupil who is entitled to eFSM and are billed for those meals termly.
Infants
If your child attends full time nursery, reception, Year 1 or Year 2, they will automatically qualify for the new Universal Primary Free School Meals scheme.
However, if you as a parent or guardian are in receipt of a qualifying benefit you must still apply for Free School Meals (eFSM) in order to access other funding such as an annual uniform grant and meals payments during the school holidays. The school will also receive additional funding that would be used to enhance our pupils school experiences.
Juniors
Are you missing out on £2.65 for a free meal for your child every school day?
If you as a parent or guardian are in receipt of a qualifying benefit, you may qualify for Free School Meals (eFSM) and other funding, such as an annual uniform grant and meals payments during the school holidays. The school will also receive additional funding that would be used to enhance our pupils school experiences.
Qualifying benefit
In order to qualify for Free School Meals, either the parent / Legal Guardian or student themselves must be in receipt of either:

If you wish to claim free school meals for more than one child, only one form needs to be submitted, even if the children are attending different schools within Pembrokeshire. If you have any difficulties with applying for eFSM, please contact Jill or Frances at the school who will be able to help you.
Pembrokeshire County Council does not grant free meals for pupils attending schools outside Pembrokeshire, or for students at college. Pupils living in Pembrokeshire and attending schools in other counties should apply to the local authority maintaining the school.
