Pupil Voice underpins everything we do in PDCS.
The School Council are made up of 3 representatives per year group starting from Reception to Year 6. Representatives are elected by their peers in their class after voluntarily campaigning to be apart of the Council.
This year, to ensure everyone in our school was represented, we ensured we are representative of the school population and have representatives for our multilingual and service children. We believe in equity and inclusion for all. Take a look at our work:

What we have been up to this year (2023-24):
Working with Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions to plant memorial trees for Queen Elizabeth II.
Walking through the school to look for effective elements that support learners' learning.
Collaborating with the Service Children group to represent our school in the Remembrance Parade.
Organising the annual PDCS Bake-Off for Children in Need and raising over £200.
Listening to our peers to order new outdoor equipment for break times and creating a video introducing these.
Sharing our work so far with our Governing Body.
Creating a survey to gather feedback on teaching and learning in PDCS.
Sharing the findings of our research on teaching and learning with Mrs Thomas.
Organising a Big Red Nose Hunt to raise money for Comic Relief and sharing our plans in an assembly.

As part of our continued Equity and Diversity work, we presented an assembly about the difference between Equity and Equality and what Equity looks like in PDCS.
Collaborating with Criw Cymraeg to ensure Welsh is prominent around the school corridors and in classrooms.

What we got up to last year (2022-23):
Donating food from the Harvest Festival to a local food bank and warmth cafe.
Organising the annual PDCS Bake-Off to raise money for Children in Need.
Representing the school in the local Remembrance Parade and laying the wreath.
Running an anti-bullying poster competition to reduce bullying and promote kindness.
As part of our continued Diversity and Equity work, we completed a walk through the school to ensure diverse representation of different religions, ethnicities and disabilities around the school.
Tour of County Hall, Haverfordwest with Councillor Beynon, and questions and answers in the council chambers.
As part of continued Equity and Diversity work, we completed a walk through the school ensuring no gender stereotyping.
Organising a fundraiser for Turkey and Syria following the disastrous earthquakes, and raising hundreds of pounds.
Presenting an assembly promoting messages of kindness, anti-bullying and introducing the PDCS ARK: 6 Random Acts of Kindness.
Collaborating with the Eco Committee to reduce the food waste across the school, introducing recycling bins in the dinner hall and food waste bins in each corridor.
Lots of our work contributed to the School of Sanctuary award, making us the first school in Pembrokeshire to achieve this. We celebrated this award in an assembly.
Supplying outdoor boxes for break times, following requests from many pupils.
Helping run the Coronation afternoon tea celebrations by supplying the drinks!
Organising a 'No Pen Day' to highlight the importance of oracy and provide opportunities to practise their oracy skills.
Sharing all of our hard work with the Governors. They were SO impressed!
Organising a Book Swap/Sale for Forever 11 charity which raised lots of money for them.
