Junior Road Safety Officers

JRSOs are voted into post by their peers, following a campaign, during pupil responsibility campaign week every September. Once they’ve been appointed, they attend an inaugural meeting and receive some JRSO goodies. They learn about road safety in order to educate other pupils and lead safety campaigns throughout the year. They help promote road safety issues within the school and the local community.

JRSOs wear a lanyard identifying them for other pupils across the school. Their lanyard badge also asks for pupils to ask them how they can stay safe on the road.

The JRSOs are currently writing to the local authority and the school governors with some suggestions on how to improve the safety of the school car park. Keep watching this space as the JRSOs will update you with any developments!
