Armed Forces Group at Pembroke Dock Community School
Our Armed Forces Group provides a safe and supportive space for children from military families within our school community. The group currently supports ten pupils from seven families, ranging from Early Years to Year 6, whose parents are serving members, veterans, or reservists.
This term, two of our pupils proudly volunteered to become ambassadors for SSCE Cymru (Supporting Service Children in Education), helping to raise awareness and represent the voices of service children. Earlier this term, the group attended an Armed Forces Festival at the Haverfordwest TA Centre, an event organised by SSCE Cymru, which was a fantastic opportunity to connect with others and celebrate the Armed Forces community.
Our meetings, held every half term, offer a safe place to share experiences, discuss challenges, and support one another. Children also take part in activities they have chosen themselves, designed to build collaboration and teamwork skills. By the end of the academic year, the group will work towards earning a special trophy to celebrate their achievements.
At Pembroke Dock Community School, we are committed to ensuring that our Armed Forces families feel valued, supported, and connected.
