Learn Photoshop Level 3

Follow the tutorials below to learn how to use photoshop, these skills may be useful for image editing for your website. You may also choose to demonstrate complex procedures in image manipulation. Below is the list of level 3 skills, you would need to demonstrate at least 3,

Getting Photoshop on your device

As part of the 13DTEC course, the school provides you with an Adobe CC license, to have access to any Adobe CC products on your own device. Start by visiting Adobe CC and downloading Photoshop onto to your device.

TASK 1 - Recapping Photoshop 

Follow the google slide to recap the basics of photoshop

Learning Goal - Be able to use transform, edit, and manipulate layers to create a Mr/ Mrs Potato head image.

TASK 2a - Non-destructive editing, layer masking

Follow the google slide to learn how to apply layer masks

Learning Goal - Be able to use layer masking to hide pixels of an image and reveal the image behind it.

Learning Goal - Be able to crop images without deleting the pixels cropped out.

TASK 2c -  Saving images for web

Learning Goal - Be able to use photoshop's 'save for web' function to optimise the images you edited in the previous activities for use in your practice website. 

TASK 3 - Pen tool & Paths

Learning Goal - Be able to use the pen tool to create a more accurate selection and then convert it into a path.

Learning Goal - Be able to adjust, levels, curves and saturation in images and describe how to read a histogram in photoshop.
