At Haven, we believe that emotional intelligence is as important as academic intelligence, and that a focus on emotional intelligence in turn supports the development of academic intelligence. Haven integrates social emotional learning practices throughout the school day and develops emotional intelligence in students using RULER's approach.
RULER, is an evidence-based approach to social emotional learning that was developed at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. The mission of RULER is aligned with the mission of Haven: to use the power of emotions to create a healthier, more equitable, productive, and compassionate society.
