Reflections

•  Using Tinker cad, I created a chess piece because I thought it would be cool to make. I wanted to make some sort of chess piece that I could use or have. I created the king, for it is the most important iece of the game and seemed like the one I should've made.

• During this process, I learned how to make the shapes look different. I made the shapes that make up my chess piece have more texture to them and not just be flat, boring shapes. I was able to then make my design look more realistic.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator  because images of my design are on my website for the world to see.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was getting my shapes to align right to make the piece. I was able to do it by changing the settings in Tinker cad to get it so that i could move the shapes more freely. I was then able to align them to make my chess piece.

•  Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I made using Tinker cad. The reason why I would change it is because I feel my design is simple. I think it would be nice to make something more complicated or a bit more of a challenge.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers as a 3D printing technician  because my project deals with 3D printing.  3D printing technicians deal with 3D printing machines and help make them work correctly. They also hel with teh design process of the printing.
