8P6 X-carve

Reflection

• Using X-carve, I created a carving of Lionel Messi because I thought it would be cool to have a carving of him with a quote next to it. I also used Easel to make my design. I went through several designs before choosing  this one.

• During this process, I learned how to use the X-carve. I also learned how to use Easel and make my design. I also learned how to import an image into Easel for my design.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global collaborator because pictures of my carving are on this website for the world to see.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was getting my design to look right. I was able to do it by editing the design's features and shapes to make it look right. I also had to find the best photo of Messi that would work on Easel. 

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the fact that there are no words next to the carving. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to have a quote next to Messi. It would be cool to do a different design as well.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  This is because I had to design my carving. 

• My project connects to careers in woodworking CNC Technician  because I used the X-carve to cut my carving into wood. CNC Technicians do similar things, preparing similar machines to cut or carve into cabinets or furniture.
