Reflection

• Using Micro bit, I created digital images with lights because it was an interesting thing to use. I found that it was a unique project and a cool opportunity.  It is probably not something a lot of 7th graders get to use.

• During this project, I learned how to program the micro bit to make what I wanted. I found out how to hook it up to the monitor and where to go to program it.  I learned what the different inputs and commands did.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I thought about and designed how to make the images on the micro bit. It also connects to knowledge constructor because I found out how to work the micro bit.

• A challenge I overcame was not having a big enough space to make the images. I overcame this by pivoting and changing how or what I was making. It turned out that I could still make some cool things without a lot of space.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sophistication of what I made. I would do this because  I feel like I didn't use the micro bit to it's full potential. I think I could make stuff that is much cooler than what I made.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because we used the computers to program the micro bits.

• My project connects to careers in web development. A web developer is someone who develops services on the web. Their salary is $61k-130k per year.
