Reflection

• Using Cricut, I created a design of a soccer ball, because I thought it would be interesting and cool to make a soccer design and put it on a shirt. I choose a soccer ball because it was simple and would look good on a shirt. It was also easy to add something else to it and make it look cool, instead of just being a soccer ball.

• During this process, I learned how to create designs using Cricut. I learned how to use the Explore 3 machine to print my design. I also learned how to make my design in design space

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I had to figure out how to make my design work and how to bring it to life.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was finding out that apart of my project (a simple sword that I had going through the soccer ball) was actually not free and had to be paid for. I was able to do it by simplifying my design and just making it a soccer ball. It was disappointing, but I pivoted and simplified my design.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change what design I would do. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to do another design, as it would be fun to do this project again .

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in T-shirt Graphic Design, because I created and made a design for a shirt, and T-shirt Graphic designers do exactly that. They can work for brands, printing companies, or work as a freelancer. Their annual income can vary from $48,000-$120,000 a year.
