Reflections
Using windows PC, tinker CAD, and 3D printer, I created a lockbox. I did this because I wanted to keep my sisters away from my money$. I made a lid, a bottom, a lock, and something to make the lid open.
During this process, I learned how to make things with tinker CAD. I learned how to design something that will be useful in real life. I figured out how to make my project and problem solve the challenges.
The 7 standards of this class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative Designer because I designed my lockbox and how it would work. I fixed the problems and change the design to make it so it would do as I wanted.
A challenge I overcame was getting everything to fit together right. The lid and the bottom were different sizes, and the part that locks is apart of the lid. Henceforth, I had to figure out how to get it to fit right. I did this by making the part that locks smaller and the lid and bottom the same size .
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the complication of the lock. I would do this because I feel like the lock isn't very complicated. I think a baby could figure it out.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because I engineered and designed my project. Like I said before, I designed how it would work and changed my design when I needed to.
My project connects to careers in 3D design. 3D designers 3D print a lot of things. They can be found in product design, medical equipment design, entertainment design, and architectural visualization. Their annual salary is $41,600-$99,800 a year.
